“She’s like a ribbon around a bomb” – that’s the Papa Don’t Preach girl! Their tagline perfectly sums up their designs – pretty, girly — and totally explosive! If you’re looking to make a splash, and not just be the belle of the ball, but be the badass of the ball – then look no further than Papa Don’t Preach! We drooled over their designs endlessly at Bridal Asia 2018, and they’ve definitely become our latest must-haves!

The beautiful genius behind this line of womenswear is Shubhika Davda, who launched Papa Don’t Preach as a high-street label in 2010. Since then, she’s delved into a whole range of other goodies – from accessories to Indian bridal wear (which we’re saving into our Dreamboards pronto!) Here Comes The Bride!

And she’s not dressed in white — nor is she coy! Shubhika Davda has created Papa Don’t Preach with her three passions in mind: music, drama and rebellion. All of which are perfectly captured in her Indian bridal wear collection — which is a breath of fresh air in a market where so many designs look so similar! With fun, bold embellishments, funky colour palettes and cutting edge silhouettes, these bridal wear pieces are perfect for the bindaas bride who is a fashionista by day, and magical ninja by night!
